The Magna range of vehicles were a range of mid-large family cars built and designed by Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited. The name was used from April 1985 until October 2005, when it was replaced by the Mitsubishi 380.
The Magna was intended to replace the Sigma and was designed to be superior in every regard. Thanks to it's front-wheel drive layout it became a competitor to the Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore due to it's roominess and comparable power.
The Magna has been well regarded by many, including the motoring press winning Wheel's Car of the Year in 1985 (TM) and 1996 (TE/KE). The Magna has been renowned for it's high levels of refinement and as being an enjoyable drive.
The Magna enjoyed sales success up until 2003 when the controversial Oliver Boulay designed TL Magna was released.
