The 4D65 displaces 1.8 litres (1795cc) and uses a 80.6mm x 88mm bore and stroke with a 22.1:1 compression ratio. It uses an ordinary distrubutor type fuel pump. It is available in both normally aspirated and turbo charged forms.

In normally aspirated form, it produces 45 kW at 4500 rpm and 111Nm at 3000 rpm.
With turbo charger it produces 56 kW at 4500 rpm and 149 Nm at 2500 rpm.
